Rooftop Terrace Design · Annecy
From Veyrier-du-Lac to Évian
Berlin-based manufactory delivering rooftop terrace concepts to the Lac d'Annecy and Lake Geneva shores' most discerning lakefront villas, with plant design, outdoor kitchens and snow-rated wellness architecture under one curatorial hand.

Why Annecy is different
Alpine light, the cleanest lake in Europe, and the Haute-Savoie chalet tradition
Annecy sits on the cleanest lake in Europe and forms the discreet HNWI counterpart to Geneva, with Veyrier-du-Lac, Talloires and Menthon-Saint-Bernard among France's most expensive residential micro-markets. The Évian-les-Bains and Thonon-les-Bains Lake Geneva shore extends the lifestyle further. Climate is humid continental Alpine moderated by lake Annecy – warm summers, cold snowy winters, intense Alpine UV, foehn wind events. The Lac d'Annecy preservation regulation is among the strictest in France.
We work in this tension daily: with HMONP-licensed Ordre des Architectes architects and structural engineers, with Mairie permitting and ABF heritage consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of Annecy clients between Veyrier-du-Lac, Talloires and Menthon lakefront villas, Sevrier and Saint-Jorioz residences, Annecy-le-Vieux estates, plus Évian, Thonon and Yvoire Lake Geneva-shore projects. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, Alpine-prealpine curation, and the wellness elements (sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, sauna pavilion, fire pit) that turn an Annecy rooftop into a year-round sanctuary.

Our Annecy approach
Curated plants, ecological substrate, lifestyle integration
- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation under Alpine snow, UV and lake-preservation stress.
- Alpine-prealpine palette – structural specimens (oak, beech, larch, mountain ash, pine), Alpine evergreens (juniper, dwarf pine, boxwood, holly), flowering accents (rhododendron, mountain laurel, hydrangea, peony), Alpine perennials, Haute-Savoie chalet plants.
- Wellness architecture – sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, sauna pavilion and fire pit integration with lake or mountain framing.
- Lake-preservation-aware execution – HMONP-licensed Ordre des Architectes architects and structural engineers, Mairie d'Annecy permitting, ABF heritage consent for Vieille Ville and Yvoire, Lac d'Annecy preservation compliance.

How an Annecy project unfolds
From first conversation to handover
- 01
Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (Mairie, ABF, lake-preservation, snow load).
- 02
Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and approvals
Load calculations with French-licensed structural engineer, Mairie d'Annecy or Grand Annecy permitting, ABF heritage consent where required, lake-preservation compliance.
- 04
Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks. Plants are sourced from Haute-Savoie and Geneva-corridor nurseries and pre-conditioned for the Annecy climate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
Frequently asked
What clients usually want to know first
- Do you work on rooftop terrace projects in Annecy?
- Yes. Most of our Annecy work is Veyrier-du-Lac, Talloires, Menthon-Saint-Bernard, Sevrier, Annecy-le-Vieux, Évian, Thonon and Yvoire.
- How do you handle Lac d'Annecy lake-preservation?
- With closed-loop irrigation, organic-only substrate, low-nutrient-leach planter design, and runoff detailing engineered to protect the lake's drinking-water-grade purity.
- How long does a typical Annecy project take?
- Between five and fourteen months from first conversation to handover. Larger lakefront estates often need eight to fourteen months of planning.
