Athens rooftops sit under one of the brightest skies in Europe. Summer temperatures regularly above 38°C, mild winters, intense UV, occasional meltemi gusts from the Aegean and scarce summer water define the operating envelope. The city is layered – ancient and modern coexist, with the Acropolis visible from rooftops across Kolonaki and Plaka.
We work in this tension daily: with TEE-registered Greek architects and structural engineers, with planners who navigate the Greek code, and with the lifestyle expectations of clients between Kolonaki penthouses, Kifissia hilltop villas and Athenian Riviera seafront estates. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, classic Mediterranean curation, and the wellness elements (pool deck, outdoor kitchen, spa) that turn an Athenian rooftop into a year-round sanctuary.

From first conversation to handover

Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (heat, meltemi, structure, water).

Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and consent
Load calculations with structural engineer, TEE-registered architectural sign-off, Greek planning code submissions where required, coordination with the building's architect and interior designer.

Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks. Plants are sourced from Greek and Mediterranean nurseries and pre-conditioned for the project's microclimate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
