Rooftop Terrace Design · Atlanta
From Buckhead to Druid Hills
Berlin-based manufactory delivering rooftop terrace concepts to Atlanta's most discerning Buckhead estates and historic-district residences, with plant design, outdoor kitchens and storm-rated wellness architecture under one curatorial hand.

Why Atlanta is different
Southern HNWI capital, thunderstorm season, and the Buckhead estate tradition
Atlanta is the Southern US HNWI capital, host to multiple Fortune 100 headquarters (Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, Home Depot, UPS). Buckhead and Tuxedo Park form the historic estate belt; Chastain Park, Brookhaven and Sandy Springs add the northern villa neighborhoods; Druid Hills (Olmsted-designed), Inman Park, Morningside and Ansley Park preserve the historic-district townhouse and bungalow tradition. Climate is humid subtropical – hot humid summers, mild winters with occasional ice, severe spring thunderstorms.
We work in this tension daily: with AIA Atlanta-licensed architects and structural engineers, with City of Atlanta and Urban Design Commission consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of Atlanta clients between Buckhead and Tuxedo Park estates, Chastain Park heritage residences, Brookhaven and Sandy Springs villa estates, Druid Hills heritage properties, Inman Park and Morningside townhouses, plus Ansley Park central residences. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, Southern-Appalachian curation, and the wellness elements (sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, pool deck, shaded pergola) that turn an Atlanta rooftop into a year-round sanctuary.

Our Atlanta approach
Curated plants, ecological substrate, lifestyle integration
- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation under Southern humidity and storm stress.
- Southern-Appalachian palette – structural specimens (Southern magnolia, dogwood, crape myrtle, live oak, river birch), Southern evergreens (camellia, gardenia, holly, boxwood), flowering accents (azalea, rhododendron, hydrangea, jasmine, wisteria), Georgia garden plants.
- Wellness architecture – sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, pool deck and shaded pergola integration with skyline or estate framing.
- Storm-aware execution – AIA Atlanta architects and structural engineers, City of Atlanta permitting, Urban Design Commission heritage consent for Buckhead/Inman Park/Druid Hills, thunderstorm- and tornado-rated planters and anchoring.

How an Atlanta project unfolds
From first conversation to handover
- 01
Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (City of Atlanta, Urban Design Commission, thunderstorm, structure).
- 02
Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and approvals
Load calculations with Georgia-licensed structural engineer, City of Atlanta Department of City Planning permitting, Urban Design Commission heritage consent for historic districts.
- 04
Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks. Plants are sourced from Georgia and Southern Appalachian nurseries and pre-conditioned for the Atlanta climate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
