Bangkok rooftops sit in a tropical savanna climate that demands a specific design language. Year-round heat and humidity, intense monsoon from May to October, occasional flooding events at street level, sea-level construction with high water table. The skyline reaches vertically with sky-rise penthouses in Sukhumvit, Sathorn and Silom; the lifestyle layer below combines Thai craft tradition with international design influence.
We work in this tension daily: with Thai-registered structural engineers and landscape architects, with BMA permitting consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of clients between sky residences and Thonglor villas. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, tropical curation, and the wellness elements (spa, outdoor kitchen, jacuzzi) that turn a Bangkok roof into a year-round sanctuary above the city.

- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation under the monsoon regime.
- Tropical-Southeast-Asian palette – foliage (Alocasia, Philodendron, Strelitzia, banana palm), flowering accents (bougainvillea, frangipani, ixora, heliconia), structural specimens (Ficus, coconut palm, areca palm), orchid layers.
- Wellness architecture – spa, jacuzzi and outdoor kitchen integration with skyline framing. Acoustic privacy through living screens.

From first conversation to handover

Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (monsoon, sun path, structure, BMA).

Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and permitting
Load calculations with Thai-registered structural engineer, BMA permitting, coordination with the building's architect and interior designer.

Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks. Plants are sourced from regional South-East Asian nurseries and pre-conditioned for the project's microclimate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
