Rooftop Terrace Design · Belgrade
From Dedinje to Zemun
Berlin-based manufactory delivering rooftop terrace concepts to Belgrade's most discerning diplomatic-quarter villas and Sava-Danube heritage townhouses, with plant design, outdoor kitchens and wellness architecture under one curatorial hand.

Why Belgrade is different
Sava-Danube confluence, Dedinje diplomatic tradition, and Balkan hospitality
Belgrade sits at one of Europe's most strategically located river confluences – the Sava meets the Danube at Kalemegdan. Dedinje forms the historic diplomatic-quarter villa belt; Senjak adds the heritage residential zone; Topčider preserves the wooded park-villa tradition; Vračar anchors the central residential district; Stari Grad covers the heritage townhouses; Zemun preserves the Habsburg-Austrian architectural overlay. Climate is humid continental Pannonian – hot dry summers, cold snowy winters.
We work in this tension daily: with Inženjerska komora Srbije-registered architects and structural engineers, with Gradska Uprava Beograd and Republički zavod consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of Belgrade clients between Dedinje diplomatic villas, Senjak heritage residences, Topčider hillside villas, Vračar central rooftops, Stari Grad townhouses, Zemun Sava-side properties, plus Banovo Brdo and Košutnjak forest-edge estates. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, Pannonian-Balkan curation, and the wellness elements (sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, sauna pavilion) that turn a Belgrade rooftop into a year-round sanctuary.

Our Belgrade approach
Curated plants, ecological substrate, lifestyle integration
- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation under Pannonian summer drought and winter stress.
- Pannonian-Balkan palette – structural specimens (oak, beech, hornbeam, magnolia, linden), Balkan evergreens (boxwood, holly, yew, juniper), flowering accents (peony, rose, jasmine, lilac, hydrangea), Mediterranean accents, Serbian manor-garden plants.
- Wellness architecture – sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, sauna pavilion and pergola integration with Sava-Danube confluence or Topčider framing.
- Heritage-aware execution – Inženjerska komora Srbije architects and structural engineers, Gradska Uprava Beograd permitting, Republički zavod heritage consent.

How a Belgrade project unfolds
From first conversation to handover
- 01
Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (Gradska Uprava, Republički zavod, structure, snow load).
- 02
Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and approvals
Load calculations with Serbian-licensed structural engineer, Gradska Uprava Beograd permitting, Republički zavod za zaštitu spomenika kulture heritage consent.
- 04
Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks. Plants are sourced from Pannonian-Balkan nurseries and pre-conditioned for the Belgrade climate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
Frequently asked
What clients usually want to know first
- Do you work on rooftop terrace projects in Belgrade?
- Yes. Most of our Belgrade work is Dedinje, Senjak, Topčider, Vračar, Stari Grad and Zemun.
- How do you handle Pannonian summer and winter cycling?
- With four-season Balkan plant material, snow-load-rated planters, drought-tolerant summer compositions, and anchored irrigation systems engineered for Sava-Danube humidity swings.
- How long does a typical Belgrade project take?
- Between four and twelve months from first conversation to handover. Larger Dedinje or Senjak estates often need eight to fourteen months.

The first call is unhurried – understanding before any concept. We travel from Berlin for site visits when the project warrants it.
