Rooftop Terrace Design · Goa
From Assagao to Cabo de Rama
Berlin-based manufactory delivering rooftop terrace concepts to Goa's most discerning Portuguese-heritage villas and South Goa clifftop estates, with plant design, outdoor kitchens and monsoon-rated wellness architecture under one curatorial hand.

Why Goa is different
Portuguese-heritage Konkan, Arabian Sea monsoon, and the Indian HNWI beach tradition
Goa is the smallest Indian state and the most distinctive lifestyle market on the subcontinent, with a 451-year Portuguese architectural legacy and the leading Indian HNWI beach destination. Assagao and Anjuna form the contemporary HNWI villa heartland; Vagator and Siolim extend the lifestyle north; Aldona and Saligao preserve inland heritage casas; Reis Magos and Panjim anchor the river-front and Portuguese capital tradition; Cabo de Rama (South Goa) offers clifftop estates. Climate is tropical monsoon Konkan with severe southwest monsoon June–September.
We work in this tension daily: with COA-registered architects and structural engineers, with Goa Town and Country Planning Department, Communidade and ASI heritage consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of Goa clients between Assagao and Anjuna villa estates, Vagator and Siolim residences, Aldona and Saligao heritage casas, Reis Magos and Panjim riverfront properties, plus Cabo de Rama clifftop estates and Moira hinterland villas. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, Konkan-Portuguese curation, and the wellness elements (sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, pool deck, shaded balcão) that turn a Goa rooftop into a year-round sanctuary.

Our Goa approach
Curated plants, ecological substrate, lifestyle integration
- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation under tropical monsoon and Arabian Sea salt stress.
- Konkan-Portuguese palette – structural specimens (coconut palm, royal palm, mango, jackfruit, kokum, banyan), Konkan evergreens (Plumeria, Hibiscus, Ixora, Bougainvillea, jasmine), flowering accents (Indian orchids, anthurium, heliconia, frangipani), salt-tolerant succulents, Goan-Portuguese courtyard plants.
- Wellness architecture – sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, pool deck and shaded balcão integration with Arabian Sea or paddy-field framing.
- Heritage- and monsoon-aware execution – COA-registered architects and structural engineers, Goa Town and Country Planning Department permitting, Communidade consent, Portuguese-heritage casa conservation review.

How a Goa project unfolds
From first conversation to handover
- 01
Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (Town and Country Planning, Communidade, casa heritage, monsoon).
- 02
Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and approvals
Load calculations with Indian-licensed structural engineer, Goa Town and Country Planning Department permitting, Communidade and ASI consent where applicable.
- 04
Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks, ideally outside monsoon season. Plants are sourced from Indian Konkan and Western Ghats nurseries and pre-conditioned for the Goa climate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
