Rooftop Terrace Design · Madrid
From Salamanca to La Moraleja
Berlin-based manufactory delivering rooftop terrace concepts to Madrid's most discerning residences, with plant design, outdoor kitchens and wellness architecture under one curatorial hand.

Why Madrid is different
Continental sun, dry summers, and the highest capital in Europe
Madrid sits at 650 metres of elevation – the highest capital in Europe. The light is bright, the summer sun intense, and rainfall scarce. Salamanca penthouses look across the Barrio de Salamanca grid; La Moraleja villas open onto pine-shaded gardens; both demand a discipline of drought-adapted curation. Building consent runs through the Ayuntamiento de Madrid and COAM-registered architects.
We work in this tension daily: with Spanish architects, structural engineers and licensing consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of Madrileño clients whose rooftops become the primary living space half the year. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, Mediterranean curation, and the wellness elements (pool deck, outdoor kitchen, spa) that turn a Madrid roof into a year-round sanctuary.

Our Madrid approach
Curated plants, ecological substrate, lifestyle integration
- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation and dramatically reduce irrigation demand.
- Mediterranean palette – evergreen structure (olive, citrus, holm oak, cypress), aromatic accents (lavender, rosemary, salvia, thyme), sculptural specimens (Phoenix, agave, bougainvillea).
- Wellness architecture – pool deck, spa, sauna and outdoor kitchen integration with shade pergolas and microclimate cooling.
- Regulation-aware execution – COAM-registered Spanish architects, Ayuntamiento de Madrid licencia where required, irrigation engineered for Madrid's water reality.
Areas we serve
Across central Madrid and the inner suburbs
Most of our Madrid work is concentrated in penthouse residences in Salamanca and Chamberí, and villa rooftops in La Moraleja and Pozuelo de Alarcón. We also handle select hospitality projects.
How a Madrid project unfolds
From first conversation to handover
- 01
Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (summer heat, sun path, structure, water).
- 02
Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and consent
Load calculations with structural engineer, COAM-registered architectural sign-off, licencia de obra where required, coordination with the building's architect and interior designer.
- 04
Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks. Plants are sourced from Spanish nurseries and pre-conditioned for the project's microclimate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
Frequently asked
What clients usually want to know first
- Do you work on rooftop terrace projects in Madrid?
- Yes. Most of our Madrid work is penthouse residences in Salamanca, Chamberí, Chamartín and Justicia, plus villa rooftops in La Moraleja and Pozuelo de Alarcón.
- How do you handle Madrid's summer heat and water constraints?
- With a drought-adapted Mediterranean palette, mycorrhizal soil partnerships that reduce irrigation demand, shade pergolas, and irrigation engineered for Madrid's water reality.
- How long does a typical Madrid project take?
- Between three and ten months from first conversation to handover. Larger La Moraleja villas with wellness architecture often need six to twelve months of planning.

The first call is unhurried – understanding before any concept. We travel from Berlin for site visits when the project warrants it.
