Rooftop Terrace Design · Megève
From Mont d'Arbois to Rochebrune
Berlin-based manufactory delivering rooftop terrace concepts to Megève's most discerning ridge chalets and Savoyard residences, with plant design, outdoor kitchens and wellness architecture under one curatorial hand.

Why Megève is different
Rothschild heritage, Savoyard chalet tradition, and Domaine Évasion access
Megève rooftops sit at 1100 metres on a sun-trap plateau facing Mont Blanc, a resort developed by the Rothschilds from the 1920s and preserved with strict Savoyard-chalet rules. Long cold winters, heavy snow load, brilliant short summers, intense high-altitude UV. The Domaine Évasion Mont Blanc links Megève with Saint-Gervais, Combloux, Praz-sur-Arly and Les Contamines into one of the largest ski circuits in the French Alps.
We work in this tension daily: with French architects (ordre des architectes) and structural engineers, with Mairie de Megève consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of Megève clients between Mont d\'Arbois ridge chalets, Rochebrune slopes and Demi-Quartier sun-terrace estates. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, ultra-hardy Savoyard curation, and the wellness elements (spa, sauna, outdoor kitchen) that turn a Megève chalet roof into a year-round sanctuary.

Our Megève approach
Curated plants, ecological substrate, lifestyle integration
- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation.
- Savoyard alpine palette – evergreen structure (Swiss stone pine, larch, juniper, mountain pine, silver fir), Savoyard natives (alpine roses, gentian, bilberry, alpine asters), short-season ornamental layers and chalet-garden elements.
- Wellness architecture – spa, sauna and outdoor kitchen integration with Mont Blanc framing and snow-load engineering.
- Heritage-aware execution – French architects and structural engineers, Mairie de Megève consent, strict Savoyard-chalet-style preservation.
Areas we serve
Across the Domaine Évasion Mont Blanc
Most of our Megève work is concentrated in Mont d\'Arbois and Rochebrune ridge chalets, and Demi-Quartier sun-terrace estates. We also handle select hospitality projects.
How a Megève project unfolds
From first conversation to handover
- 01
Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (snow load, chalet preservation, structure).
- 02
Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and consent
Load calculations with structural engineer, ordre des architectes sign-off, Mairie de Megève consent, chalet-preservation consultation, snow-load engineering.
- 04
Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks during the late spring–summer window. Plants are sourced from French alpine nurseries and pre-conditioned for the Mont Blanc climate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
Frequently asked
What clients usually want to know first
- Do you work on rooftop terrace projects in Megève?
- Yes. Most of our Megève work is Mont d\'Arbois and Rochebrune ridge chalets, Demi-Quartier residences, and weekend houses in Combloux, Praz-sur-Arly and Cordon.
- How do you handle Savoyard chalet preservation?
- With strict compliance to Mairie de Megève rules, material specification that respects the Savoyard chalet silhouette, and traditional chalet-garden elements blended into our alpine palette.
- How long does a typical Megève project take?
- Between four and twelve months from first conversation to handover. Larger ridge chalets often need eight to fourteen months because the installation window is constrained to late spring and summer.

The first call is unhurried – understanding before any concept. We travel from Berlin for site visits when the project warrants it.
