Rooftop Terrace Design · Mexico City
From Polanco to San Ángel
Berlin-based manufactory delivering rooftop terrace concepts to Mexico City's most discerning Polanco penthouses and Lomas villa rooftops, with plant design, outdoor kitchens and wellness architecture under one curatorial hand.

Why Mexico City is different
High-altitude light, design heritage, and Volcán Popocatépetl horizon
Mexico City rooftops sit at 2240 metres above sea level – under one of the brightest skies of any major capital. The climate is mild subtropical-highland year-round, with a rainy season from June to September, intense high-altitude UV, occasional seismic activity and dust events in the dry months. The city carries a deep design culture from Luis Barragán to contemporary architects, and historic neighbourhoods (San Ángel, Coyoacán) operate under INAH heritage consent.
We work in this tension daily: with Mexican-licensed structural engineers and landscape architects, with SEDUVI permitting and INAH heritage consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of clients between Polanco penthouses, Lomas de Chapultepec villas and weekend properties in Cuernavaca or Valle de Bravo. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, Mexican-anchored curation, and the wellness elements (pool deck, outdoor kitchen, spa) that turn a CDMX roof into a year-round sanctuary.

Our Mexico City approach
Curated plants, ecological substrate, lifestyle integration
- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation.
- Mexican-anchored palette – evergreen structure (olive, cypress, Ficus benjamina, agave attenuata), Mexican natives (yucca, sotol, dasylirion, palo dulce), flowering accents (bougainvillea, jacaranda, plumbago).
- Wellness architecture – pool deck, spa and outdoor kitchen integration drawing on Barragán-era courtyard principles.
- Regulation-aware execution – Mexican-licensed structural engineers (seismic-rated), SEDUVI permitting, INAH heritage consultation.
Areas we serve
Across CDMX's most exclusive colonias
Most of our CDMX work is concentrated in Polanco penthouses, Lomas villa rooftops and heritage residences in San Ángel and Coyoacán. We also handle select hospitality projects.
How a Mexico City project unfolds
From first conversation to handover
- 01
Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (altitude UV, seismic, structure, heritage).
- 02
Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and permitting
Load calculations with Mexican-licensed structural engineer, SEDUVI permitting, INAH heritage consultation where required.
- 04
Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks. Plants are sourced from Mexican nurseries and pre-conditioned for the altitude climate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
Frequently asked
What clients usually want to know first
- Do you work on rooftop terrace projects in Mexico City?
- Yes. Most of our CDMX work is Polanco penthouses, Lomas de Chapultepec and Bosques de las Lomas villa rooftops, and heritage residences in San Ángel and Coyoacán.
- How do you handle the high-altitude climate?
- With UV-stable material specification, altitude-adapted Mexican plant material, and substrate composition designed for the dry-season/wet-season cycle.
- How long does a typical CDMX project take?
- Between four and ten months from first conversation to handover. Larger Lomas villas with wellness architecture often need six to twelve months of planning.

The first call is unhurried – understanding before any concept. We travel from Berlin for site visits when the project warrants it.
