São Paulo rooftops sit above one of the densest cities in the Americas, a sea of high-rises spanning Avenida Paulista, Faria Lima and Marginal Pinheiros. The climate is humid subtropical with warm wet summers, mild dry winters, frequent thunderstorm events and intense UV. The city's Brazilian Modernist heritage – from Oscar Niemeyer to Lina Bo Bardi – sets a high baseline for design intent.
We work in this tension daily: with Brazilian-registered structural engineers and landscape architects, with Prefeitura and IPHAN consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of clients between Jardins penthouses, Vila Nova Conceição villas and Morumbi/Alphaville estates. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, tropical-subtropical curation, and the wellness elements (pool deck, outdoor kitchen, spa) that turn a São Paulo roof into a year-round sanctuary.

- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation under the humid summer regime.

Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (thunderstorms, UV, structure, heritage).

Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.

Engineering and permitting
Load calculations with Brazilian-registered structural engineer, Prefeitura permitting, IPHAN heritage consultation where required.

Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks. Plants are sourced from Brazilian nurseries and pre-conditioned for the project's microclimate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
