Rooftop Terrace Design · Scottsdale
From Paradise Valley to Desert Mountain
Berlin-based manufactory delivering rooftop terrace concepts to Scottsdale's most discerning Paradise Valley estates and Sonoran Desert gated-community residences, with plant design, outdoor kitchens and extreme-heat-rated wellness architecture under one curatorial hand.

Why Scottsdale is different
Sonoran Desert, Camelback Mountain, and the Paradise Valley tradition
Paradise Valley is consistently ranked as one of the highest-net-worth US zip codes per capita. Silverleaf, DC Ranch, Estancia, Desert Mountain and Whisper Rock form the gated golf-and-private-club community network; Arcadia and Camelback East anchor the central HNWI villa zone; Carefree and Cave Creek extend the desert lifestyle further north. Climate is arid Sonoran Desert – extreme heat (summers above 45°C), intense UV, dust storms (haboobs), monsoon thunderstorms July–September. Scottsdale\'s dark-sky and Sensitive Design Principles apply.
We work in this tension daily: with AIA Arizona-licensed architects and structural engineers, with Town of Paradise Valley and City of Scottsdale Sensitive Design consultants, and with the lifestyle expectations of Scottsdale clients between Paradise Valley estates, Silverleaf and DC Ranch gated villas, Estancia, Desert Mountain and Whisper Rock private-club estates, Arcadia and Camelback East villas. Our role is the plant and outdoor lifestyle layer – ecological substrate, Sonoran Desert curation, and the wellness elements (sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, pool deck, shaded ramada) that turn a Scottsdale rooftop into a year-round sanctuary.

Our Scottsdale approach
Curated plants, ecological substrate, lifestyle integration
- Symbiosis methodology – mycorrhizal partnerships, effective microorganisms and humus building replace chemical fertilisation under extreme desert heat and low humidity.
- Sonoran Desert palette – structural specimens (saguaro, Joshua tree, palo verde, ironwood, mesquite, ocotillo), Sonoran evergreens (Texas sage, jojoba, desert spoon, brittlebush), flowering accents (desert marigold, hesperaloe, fairy duster, lantana), drought-tolerant succulents.
- Wellness architecture – sunset terrace, outdoor kitchen, pool deck and shaded ramada integration with Camelback or Sonoran desert framing.
- Heat- and dark-sky-aware execution – AIA Arizona architects and structural engineers, Town of Paradise Valley / City of Scottsdale permitting, Sensitive Design and dark-sky compliance, extreme-heat-rated planters and irrigation.

How a Scottsdale project unfolds
From first conversation to handover
- 01
Understanding before drawing
Site visit (or detailed remote survey for first conversations from Berlin), discussion of the people and rhythm using the terrace, early constraint mapping (Town of Paradise Valley / City of Scottsdale, Sensitive Design, extreme heat, haboobs).
- 02
Concept and curation
A small set of plant compositions, material moodboards, wellness element placement. Always optionality.
- 03
Engineering and approvals
Load calculations with Arizona-licensed structural engineer, Town of Paradise Valley / City of Scottsdale permitting, Sensitive Design Principles and dark-sky compliance.
- 04
Installation and handover
Our team installs on site over one to several weeks, ideally outside June–August extreme heat. Plants are sourced from Sonoran Desert nurseries and pre-conditioned for the Scottsdale climate. After handover we offer ongoing care subscriptions following the same symbiosis methodology.
